The S2 MAX is positioned as a long-range commuter, and its current specification includes 10-inch self-healing tires. That upgrade matters because tires influence comfort, traction, braking, efficiency, and the amount of routine maintenance a rider faces.

What “self-healing” means

A self-healing tire normally contains sealing material intended to close certain small punctures in the tread area. It can reduce the chance that a minor penetration immediately ends a trip. It does not repair every kind of damage and should not be treated as permission to ignore tire inspections.

Large cuts, sidewall damage, bent rims, damaged valves, repeated pressure loss, embedded objects, or impact damage still require professional assessment or replacement.

Why tire size matters

The 10-inch format gives the wheel a better ability to roll over small cracks and surface transitions than a smaller commuter tire. Combined with an air-containing design, it can reduce harsh vibration reaching the rider and scooter structure.

Comfort is not only a luxury. A calmer platform can help the rider maintain a stable stance, see hazards clearly, and apply steering or braking inputs more smoothly.

The rest of the S2 MAX package

The current S2 MAX listing specifies a 500W motor, a 48V 11.6Ah battery, up to 40 miles of advertised range, a maximum speed of 19 mph, three speed modes, and electronic plus drum braking. These numbers describe the intended capability, but actual range depends heavily on conditions.

Low tire pressure increases rolling resistance and can reduce range. Excessive pressure can reduce comfort and available grip. Follow the pressure or maintenance information in the product manual rather than guessing.

Pre-ride tire checklist

  • Look for cuts, bulges, exposed material, or an object embedded in the tread.
  • Confirm that both tires hold the specified pressure.
  • Check that the valve is straight and not leaking.
  • Spin each wheel and look for wobble, rubbing, or unusual noise.
  • Test braking at walking speed before joining traffic.

What to do after a puncture

If sealant closes a small puncture, stop safely and inspect the tire rather than assuming the issue is finished. Confirm pressure, monitor it over the next rides, and arrange service if pressure continues to fall. Do not ride a visibly damaged tire or wheel.

Who benefits most?

Self-healing tubeless tires are especially useful for riders who cover longer routes, commute on roads with occasional debris, or want pneumatic-tire comfort without relying only on a conventional inner tube. Riders must still carry out regular checks.
